A new day

i woke up today feeling a lot better. perhaps i just needed a day to wallow in stress and tiredness. i even made this festive salad for lunch. don't you love it when food has lots of pretty colors?
feta cheese. tomatoes. cucumbers. walnuts. spring lettuce mix + balsamic vinaigrette.

this pretty much sums up how i was feeling today.
tired. tired. cranky. tired. wanting to curl up in a ball and cover my face.
my days away from work have been filled. and i mean filled. between getting stuff ready for our new house (the closing is this friday), doing wedding errands and finishing up some freelance work, the days have been flying by. and for the most part...all very good, not-too-stressful days.
but i think i hit the wall today and just wanted to crash. and i did, for a little bit this afternoon after all my "chores" were done :) am feeling a bit better now.
i think tonight i am just going to focus on projects that are doable sitting down. in front of the TV. possibly (and by "possibly" i mean "definitely") watching NYC Prep. have you guys seen this show? ridic. what else...what other wedding updates can i give you?
- well, both my mom and dad have their outfits (a last-minute task, but we powered through quite well i think)
- we picked a reading that is just.the.cutest. (i will post after the wedding)
- i finalized the delicious menu
- my trial hair appointment is tomorrow
- and my cute friend Tina is almost done sewing my veil. it is simple with just the right amount of poof.
in other news, i'm considering a different shoe choice, i'm wearing a FIERCE black jumpsuit for the rehearsal dinner, and i'm creating a playlist for the reception that will be sure to rock the party.
11 days left.
until the next time...

it's Photo Montage Friday...the Bachlorette Party edition! (okay, actually it's Thursday, but tomorrow is a holiday AND my last day of work, so i think it's safe to say that i won't have time to post)
my bachlorette party was last saturday, and it was absolutely delightful. i had all my best girlfriends over for a good ol'fashion sleepover...resulting in the best of both worlds: childhood memories and adult beverages.
the night consisted of magazines, champagne and a constant rotation of Sex and the City episodes on the television. we nibbled on candy from martini glasses, salmon & cream cheese finger sandwiches and popcorn. my maid of honor anne fashioned these fantastic gift baskets for the girls full of make-up, nail polish, candy necklaces and face masks. there was also "creativity time" where i gave the girls paper dolls of Jennie & Brian and they had to outfit them with markers and cutouts from the magazines. HI.LAR.I.OUS.
one of my favorite moments was looking up from my magazine...the room was silent (save for the music and sound of cutting) and everyone's head was down...busy working on their project...i loved it. i loved every second of it.
**thanks to sarah for all the wonderful pictures**

flower girls

seriously. how. cute. are. they?
except you only get to see the back for now....i know...tease.tease.
these little ladies, Lucy & Ella, are the daughters of my sweet friend sarah. sarah's grandma made these dresses for the girls - how darling. i love them.
and if anyone's keeping track...25 days....
